Chef Pierre Sudre hails from a small village in the South of France where his culinary taste for earthy French cuisine with a contemporary twist was born. He fed his passion at Ecole du Sacre-Coeur Saint-Chely d’Apecher, where he received four degrees in culinary and hospitality, earned the highest Baccalaureate Degree in the history of the institution, and was awarded the distinction of being selected as a student culinary instructor for first year students.
Upon completion of his studies, Chef Sudre began his career in fine dining establishments in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France honing his art de cuisine. He brought his love of traditional French cooking to the United States when he was recruited to work as a culinary consultant to a private hotel in Houston, Texas, The Jesse H. Jones Rotary House Hotel. It was in Houston that he first partnered with Sofitel, the Paris based luxury hotel chain, as the Executive Sous Chef at Sofitel Houston. While working with the Sofitel Houston he was chosen to participate in the launch of Sofitel Los Angeles, upon its re-opening. He remained in California and joined the staff of the Sofitel San Francisco as Executive Sous Chef, before crossing the country to Sofitel Miami where his exceptional technique and culinary innovation led to him being named Executive Chef.
While with Sofitel Miami, Chef Sudre has gained local attention by appearing on the Sun Sentinel TV morning show, highlighting his signature scallops and giving tips for creating a romantic meal. In 2009 he was instrumental in lifting Sofitel Miami to the top as winner of the Hispanic Hotel Owners Association Battle of the Brands Competition.
